BEN FRANCIS

ABOUT BEN

Ben is the lead vocalist and musical arranger of The 60 Four, where he scales the vocal heights of Frankie Valli, giving the group their distinct sound.

Ben, 22, has many years of performance experience. His training has taken him around Australia, to Hong Kong, Paris and to London where has performed in the West End and The Royal Albert Hall. His musical theatre credits include Pirates of Penzance (Frederic), Jesus Christ Superstar (Jesus) and Barnum (P.T Barnum). Opera credits with the State Opera of South Australia include Cloudstreet! (Lon Lamb), Carmen and La Bohemé. Drama credits include the self-produced one man play, Private Peaceful, which won the Theatre Association of South Australia’s ‘DramatiCAL’ awards of Best Drama and Best Youth Actor. Other credits with Independent Theatre include Peter and Alice (Peter Pan), Amadeus (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), A Song To Sing, O (George Grossmith), Brideshead Revisited (Sebastien Flyte), Don Carlos (Prince Carlos) and Old Wicked Songs (Stephan Hoffman).

Ben also regularly sings at corporate functions across South Australia with Ding Productions and has shared the stage with Rachel Beck, Amity Dry and Charmaine Jones. Off stage, Ben’s accolades include director, musical director, orchestral conductor, producer and writer. Ben recently musically directed the South Australian premiere of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Pelican Productions’ staging of Chicago at the Thebarton Theatre. While still at school, Ben founded Promise Adelaide to support emerging musical theatre performers and provided opportunities for over 100 young performers while raising over $20,000 for charity organisations.

Ben has a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism/Creative Writing) from Griffith University, and has recently commenced a Master of Business (Arts and Cultural Management) at Deakin University. He is also a vocal teacher at Adelaide Theatre Academy.

KYLE CHARLES HALL

ABOUT KYLE

Kyle, 24, is  a founding member of The 60 Four, and enjoys choreographing the numbers. He grew up in Adelaide South Australia, where he first found his love for music and performing.

2021 marked the end of Kyles studies as he graduated with a Bachelor of Musical Theatre from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. There, Kyle’s credits  included Melchior in Spring Awakening, Bela Zangler in Crazy For You and The Wolf in Into The Woods. In 2014, Kyle won an Australian wide musical theatre competition with JOIP Productions and was given the opportunity to fly to New York and attend The Broadway Dance Centre.

Kyle is a passionate songwriter  and producer and has been releasing music under his own name since 2018. 2021 marked a big year for Kyle with a couple of songs receiving airtime on Triple J’s “Home & Hosed”, one of which was co-written by band member, Lachlan Williams. Kyle is set to move to Melbourne to further pursue acting after this Fringe season, but will once again be chalking up his frequent flyer points for The 60 Four shows.

LACHLAN WILLIAMS

ABOUT LACHLAN

Lachlan was born into a family with a great passion for the arts. With family involved with opera, dance and the backstage world of theatre, Lachlan grew familiar with the stage from a very young age. Many of his earlier years involved plenty of youth theatre, highlights including three overseas tours, performing in four different Disney Theme Parks, and the occasional professional role including Snugglepot and Cuddlepie (Windmill, 2007) and Different Fields (SINGular Productions, 2010).

It was in these formative years that Lachlan met Ben Francis and Kyle Hall, 2010 and 2012 respectively (he’s also known Finn Green since he was a baby). Lachlan started at Scotch College in 2012, with the other boys joining in 2013, and their friendships grew through several musicals and performances at the College. It was in the Scotch College music rooms that the earliest seeds of The 60 Four were planted. After finishing Scotch College in 2016, Lachlan attended Flinders Drama Centre from 2018 to 2021, with four years of actor training as well as multiple plays and short films under his belt.

Lachlan also has a passion for performing with local rock bands, playing bass/writing with both SODA and Kyle Charles Hall (Kyle’s original music project). Lachlan is just as passionate about being an original founding member of The 60 Four, and has adored being a part of the group since their first public performance back in 2015. He’s super excited for this year’s Fringe season, the coinciding South Australian tour, and all the potential opportunities to perform with this awesome group!

FINNEGAN GREEN

ABOUT FINNEGAN

Finnegan, 19, is the newest addition to The 60 Four and is thrilled to be part of the 2022 Fringe season.

He has always had a passion for the arts beginning when he became a company member of ‘Pelican Productions’ from a young age. Finnegan’s professional stage credits include: (TML Enterprises) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as ‘Jeremy Potts’, (Emma Knights productions) The Sound of Music as ‘Rolf’.

During the 2020 Adelaide Fringe, he joined The 60 Four, entertaining audiences with the best of the swinging 60’s classics.

Finnegan is about to enter his third year studying at Patrick School of The Arts in Melbourne under the direction of Andrew Hallsworth and is excited to enter the full-time performing arts scene.

THE HISTORY

The 60 Four started in 2015, when Ben Francis, Lachlan Williams, Kyle Charles Hall and then-bass Tom Russel found themselves singing ’60s music in a high-school class taught by well-known Australian cabaret performer Michael Griffiths. It was their first taste of the spine-tingling harmonies that were so prevalent in the era.

They prepared a medley of songs by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and performed it at the Adelaide Theatre Guide Awards night at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, receving a standing ovation and three job offers on the spot.

The 60 Four and directed by Ben Francis who, along with Lachlan, Kyle and now Finnegan Green, have been entertaining audiences for over 6 years. They weren’t born in this era but don’t let that fool you into thinking their portrayal is inferior. They bring their own arrangements and a blend that emanates from their obvious rapport as friends.

In 2016, The 60 Four produced their first public show at an intimate 40-seat venue. They now reguarly sell out performance seasons, with over 2000 tickets.
